Description

Senior Accounting Policy Advisor, Corporate Finance:
Senior Accounting Policy Advisor within the Corporate Accounting Policies function, specializing in US GAAP and the accounting and reporting for various aspects of the Firm's Retail Financial Services Line of Business. The qualified candidate will have technical accounting expertise in most or all of the following areas:

* Consumer lending

* Mortgage banking, including mortgage servicing

* Loan sales and securitizations

* Consolidation of variable interest entities

* Loan modifications, including troubled debt restructurings

* Purchases of loans, including application of SOP 03-3

* Business combinations

Specific Responsibilities:

* Actively monitor standard setting activities

* Draft comment letters on proposed accounting standards

* Prepare and disseminate information on new and emerging accounting and reporting matters to stakeholders

* Coordinate implementation of new accounting standards

* Partner with constituents to provide technical accounting support on large and/or unusual transactions

* Prepare and conduct internal education sessions on new and proposed accounting and reporting standards

* Develop and maintain corporate accounting policies

* Review external financial statements and disclosures

* Represent Firm in relevant industry groups


Requirements

* Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience

* Solid understanding of US GAAP requirements, along with experience and interest in accounting research; familiarity with IFRS a plus

* High level of self-motivation and ability to simultaneously manage multiple distinct projects

* Strong client service orientation

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)

* Team player with excellent leadership skills

* CPA required (Big Four experience strongly preferred)
